MicroPulse MP2

135°C

The MicroPulse directional controller utilizes state of the art MEMS accelerometers and magnetometers to deliver high accuracy directional measurements. Every MicroPulse sensor is ISCWSA (Revision 4) MWD Error Model compliant . The MicroPulse directional controller integrates the directional sensors, dynamics measurements, and MWD telemetry into a single rugged low power module.

In addition to the directional sensors, the MicroPulse 2 has a built-in MWD Telemetry Controller (M-Ary) capable of traditional pulse widths from 1.0s or 0.8s down to 0.1s to support new high-speed pulsers. The MWD Telemetry is optional and can be disabled for systems with their own telemetry control.

MWD sensors must enable wells to be drilled faster than ever before while being more efficient. We need to know where we are, not just when we make a connection, but while drilling. Our Inertial Drilling Measurement Unit processes all sensor inputs through an advanced field-proven Kalman Filter to produce advanced “while drilling” measurements such as Continuous Inclination and Continuous Azimuth as well Stick Slip and RPM. To further improve drilling efficiency, the MicroPulse real-time shock and vibrations measurements help eliminate drilling dysfunction.

The MicroPulse 2 is housed in a uniquely compact unibody chassis machined from a single 16” piece of aluminum. The compact unibody construction prevents bends and twists that can affect directional performance when loading the sensor into a pressure housing while allowing for more innovative placement of the tool.
